Hmm...not entirely.
My understanding of it (see the Fark.com thread on this topic) is that it only applies to data-sharing within the Verizon "family". For example, Verizon Wireless could share your information with Verizon DSL if you had both services, so you could then receive a combined bill. I'm sure that if you're a Verizon Wireless customer, they'd also market DSL and other services to you as well.
But I don't believe they're going to be passing your information to any non-Verizon-family (Vodaphone owns part of Verizon, and so is part of the family) like marketers and whatnot.
